“We found in each other what we could find nowhere else: people who knew the depth of our pain. Together we found hope and the care of a loving Higher Power. Our commitment is to help others recover from sexual addiction, just as we have been helped.”

Sex Addicts Anonymous Exeter

We are a group of individuals who are on a journey of recovery from sex addiction. While our personal experiences may differ, we all reached a point where we recognised that our lives had become unmanageable and that we had lost control over our sexually compulsive behaviour.

Despite the promises we made to ourselves and our loved ones to quit, we found ourselves unable to do so. Some of us believed that we could handle or overcome our issues in our own unique ways.

Fortunately, many of us have discovered solace and support through participating in SAA meetings. We realised that our addiction had isolated us, but in connecting with others, we discovered that our stories were strikingly similar. Through this connection, we came to understand that we are not alone in our struggles.

Within our fellowship, we encounter stories of recovery, resilience, and hope, which serve as beacons of possibility. These stories demonstrate that it is indeed feasible to overcome addiction and reclaim our lives.

The principles of our recovery are rooted in the twelve steps and twelve traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. While we are not directly affiliated with AA, we express our gratitude for their invaluable contributions and historical impact in developing a program that has saved countless lives from the ravages of various addictions.

Is SAA right for you?

All we ask is that those attending our meetings do so out of a desire to STOP their addictive sexual behaviour, SAA is not a place to meet sexual partners.

We do not charge for membership but we do take up an offering in each meeting to cover the rented space as each group is fully self-supporting in line with tradition seven of our program.

We meet weekly and ensure that our meeting place is a safe environment for all fellows, with this in mind, we make clear that anyone attending our meetings must adopt a practice of strict anonymity, whoever you meet or whatever is discussed is to be treated with complete confidentiality.
